OUR STORY

Heroes & Dreams

Not long ago, a few of us were working with local micro-entrepreneurs in the cities and villages around Ecuador, helping to improve their product presentation, their personalization of service, and introducing them and their products to national and international travel agencies and tour operators. Our goal was to help these aspiring business founders in order to improve the selection and authenticity of tourism products in our country. However, we quickly realized that introductions were not nearly enough. To truly support the passions of these safekeepers of art, culture and tradition we would set up a travel agency rooted upon them, thus Art Experiences Travel was conceived.

Around the same time, we were working on an adaptation of the Hero’s Journey concept as it applies to tourism and travel. The idea that travel can be transformative, opening opportunities to ascend to higher levels of consciousness. Opportunities arise when the circumstances are favorable for advancement, success or attainment of a goal. Therefore, our clients must ask themselves:

What is the intention of your travel? What goal are you trying to attain?
How are you going to go about achieving your intention in a new and different place?

Each journey begins with a conversation, communication of the possibilities, and more importantly communication of the clients’ desires. It’s elemental that we get to know each other and for us to listen to your expectations and needs, create your dream travelboard, and coordinate the favorable circumstances to fulfill your destiny. The most important thing about Our Story is that it’s not about US it’s about YOU.

Professional in the tourism and hospitality market for 24 years, since the beginnings in her career as tourism guide, she has worked for the main tourism companies in the Ecuador. She has covered almost all areas of the tourism industry from travel agency, national tourism guide, she was Director of Operations of Kleintours for 5 years, then she went to the hospitality field where she managed the Tour & Travel Management of JW Marriott Quito , where her success in obtaining accounts and positioning the Tour and Travel segment equaled her being named Manager of the Year on several occasions.

Stephany Reeson

Commercial Manager

Monica has been in the hospitality and tourism industry for almost 30 years. Fluent in English, French and Portuguese has travelled around Ecuador, sharing the beauty of the country with travelers. Her passion for tourism and the sustainability of ecosystems has grown thanks to all the years spent at the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil and Perú. Monica is truly committed to the empowerment of local cultures as the best way to preserve nature and build better societies. She has recently obtained her Master's Degree on Hospitality and Tourism Management.
