Nature in its pure state

To step into the Galápagos Islands is to enter a world that feels untouched by time. This archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the last sanctuaries where nature still dictates its rhythm. Its volcanic landscapes and unique species tell a story of evolution, harmony, and balance, one that every visitor becomes part of.

The Galápagos ecosystem thrives on delicate equilibrium. Human presence, even well-intentioned, can disturb this balance:

• Travelers must always keep their distance from wildlife, allowing animals to behave naturally.

• Never touch or feed them, as even small interactions can alter their habits.

• Do not take anything — not a shell, a rock, or a feather — every element plays a role in maintaining the islands’ biodiversity.

Visitors are also urged to stay on marked trails to protect fragile habitats, follow warning signs indicating strong ocean currents or nesting zones, and dispose of waste responsibly, even when in remote areas. These small gestures ensure the islands remain pristine for generations to come.

Before departing to the islands, travelers should complete the Transit Control Card (TCT) and the Biosecurity Control process (ABG) to ensure all gear is clean and free of seeds or soil to prevent introducing invasive species. Packing light, using reef-safe sunscreen, and carrying reusable items reflect responsibility and respect for the destination.

We also encourage guests to engage with community-led conservation projects in inhabited islands like Santa Cruz, Isabela, Floreana or San Cristóbal. Visiting agroecological farms, learning traditional fishing techniques, sharing hands-on experiences with local artists or participating in beach clean-ups fosters a deeper appreciation for the people who protect these islands daily.

Another insider recommendation is to plan for slower travel. The temptation to “see it all” can lead to fatigue and a superficial experience. Instead, choosing fewer islands allows more meaningful encounters — time to observe, learn, and reflect. Whether it’s snorkeling beside a green sea turtle, listening to the waves at Tortuga Bay, or watching the sunset over the bay, the true essence of Galápagos lies in stillness.

We collaborate with certified naturalist guides and conservation partners who share our belief: to visit the Galápagos is to protect it. Each journey is designed to educate, inspire, and preserve — proving that we can coexist with nature in its purest form.
